Databricks to Acquire Tecton to Boost Real-Time AI Agent Deployment

The move aims to simplify how enterprises prepare and deliver data for AI-driven applications such as fraud detection, risk scoring, and personalised recommendations.

Databricks has announced that it will acquire Tecton, a leading real-time enterprise feature store, to strengthen its AI platform and speed up the deployment of AI agents for businesses.

The move aims to simplify how enterprises prepare and deliver data for AI-driven applications such as fraud detection, risk scoring and personalised recommendations. Once integrated, Tecton’s capabilities will be embedded directly into Databricks’ workflows, enabling customers to build and deploy AI agents more efficiently.

“Bringing Tecton into Databricks will unite the best in online data serving with Databricks’ Agent Bricks, empowering customers to build, deploy and scale AI agents faster and more confidently than ever before,” Databricks said in a statement.

AI agents need real-time, reliable access to enterprise data to make accurate decisions. Today, preparing this data from multiple sources like data lakes, warehouses, and streaming platforms is a complex and time-consuming process.

Tecton addresses this by automating the process of creating and serving fresh, contextual data for both machine learning models and AI agents. Its platform offers sub-10 millisecond latency, 99.99% uptime and tools to manage the full data lifecycle—from definition to production deployment—at enterprise scale and cost efficiency.

Databricks and Tecton already share a strong partnership and many joint customers. “By uniting Tecton’s real-time data serving with Databricks’ AI tooling, customers can streamline the entire journey from raw data to production,” the company said.

With the acquisition, Databricks customers will gain fully integrated, automated real-time data serving within its unified platform, allowing businesses to develop and scale AI agents and machine learning models faster and more reliably.
