Sarvam Launches Samvaad for Enterprises to Build AI Agents in 11 Indic Languages

Sarvam has rolled out its Samvaad powered voice and chat AI agents on WhatsApp that lets businesses deploy voice and chat agents directly on the platform.

The service allows users to switch seamlessly between voice calls and chat within the same thread, powered by Meta’s new Business Calling API.

The conversational agents support 11 Indian languages across voice, text, and interactive widgets, offering personalised and context-aware interactions. Businesses can use Sarvam’s no-code platform to design and deploy agents, with pre-built templates for sales, support, and operations that cut deployment timelines from months to days.

Early use cases include lead qualification agents that engage prospects and schedule follow-ups, assistants that help with forms and KYC, order capture systems with integrated voice purchasing, customer support agents that resolve queries instantly, and booking tools that manage appointments and reminders.

Kartik Kinge, who leads conversational AI on WhatsApp at Sarvam, and Tushar Goswamy, head of Edge AI & GTM Leadership, showcased the product in a demo where they ordered a desk while conversing with the agent in Hindi.

In June, Sarvam introduced Samvaad, a conversational AI platform aimed at enabling enterprises to quickly build, test, and deploy AI agents that understand and communicate in 11 Indian languages.

The Bengaluru-based startup was the first to get selected by the IndiaAI Mission for building India’s foundational model. In the most recent news, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the company is expected to release the first model by early next year.

Earlier this year, Sarvam also released Sarvam-M, a 24-billion parameter open-weights hybrid language model built on top of Mistral Small.
