MongoDB Launches AI-Powered Platform to Modernise Legacy Applications

AMP combines AI-driven tooling, a delivery framework, and engineers to support implementation.

MongoDB has launched its Application Modernization Platform (AMP), an AI-powered offering designed to help enterprises transform legacy applications into modern, scalable services.

AMP combines AI-driven tooling, a delivery framework, and engineers to support implementation. MongoDB said the platform accelerates code transformation by up to 10 times and overall modernisation projects by two to three times.

“Enterprises are increasingly grappling with the burden of complex legacy applications, constrained by rigid data foundations and outdated architectures that stifle innovation,” said Rachel Stephens, research director at RedMonk. “MongoDB’s expansion into an AI-powered Application Modernization Platform highlights that the data layer remains an indispensable foundation for scalable services.”

The platform targets organisations weighed down by expensive and difficult-to-maintain applications. The Consortium for Information & Software Quality estimates the cost of technical debt in the US at nearly $4 trillion.

Vinod Bagal, senior vice president of Modernization and Transformation at MongoDB, said, “Research shows that too many organisations spend time and budget on low-value, high-effort work simply to keep the lights on—which impacts their ability to keep pace with competitors. MongoDB AMP offers enterprises a better approach to modernization. It helps companies move from traditional to transformative with speed and quality.”

MongoDB noted customer successes across industries. Bendigo Bank in Australia cut development time to migrate a core banking application by 90% and reduced test case execution from 80 hours to five minutes. Lombard Odier migrated applications up to 60 times faster and cut regression testing time from three days to three hours.

IntellectAI modernized components of its Wealth Management platform, improving performance and enabling generative AI use cases.

“At IntellectAI, we are redefining how enterprises unlock value with AI,” said Deepak Dastrala, chief technology officer at IntellectAI. “Modernizing with MongoDB has transformed how we deliver value to our customers, freeing us from bottlenecks and accelerating the realisation of our AI vision.”
