IIT Kanpur’s C3iHub Startups Launch Surveillance, Deep Tech Products

The event highlighted the need for collaboration among government, academia and startups to enhance India’s deep tech sectors.

The Startup Demo Day – Connect 1.0, organised by C3iHub at IIT Kanpur, launched five innovative products from its incubated startups on August 21. The event gathered leaders from government, academia, industry and the investment community, highlighting C3iHub’s goal to promote India’s technological sovereignty.

Key highlights included Aerosys Aviation India’s Eliminator Kamikaze Drone, designed for GPS-denied environments, and Maraal Aerospace introduced Tejasvaan, a high-altitude, solar-powered uncrewed aircraft with 12-hour endurance for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) missions.

India’s security, surveillance, deep-tech and cyber threat mitigation sectors also received a significant boost, according to an official statement.

SecureDApp has launched SecureTrace, a platform that utilises AI-driven tools to investigate illegal transactions in blockchain. Meanwhile, xIoTz, which features an AI engine that analyses network traffic, destination IPs and ports to identify risks and optimise performance, presented a Regulatory Compliance and Standards framework.

Saptang Labs, an AI-ML platform for unified cyber fraud management and threat intelligence, launched BlackFence, a cyber threat intelligence platform designed to combat fraud and brand abuse.

These launches and the exhibition by C3iHub startups signal a significant shift from IIT Kanpur, aiming to strengthen India’s national integrity.

The discussions emphasised how collaboration among government, academia, and startups can create locally developed, globally competitive ventures. Moreover, eight startups presented their innovative solutions to a panel of notable investors.

Reflecting on the vision of C3iHub, Manindra Agrawal, director of IIT Kanpur, said, “The launches today and the cumulative work being done by the 50-odd startups incubated with us testify to the mandate to nucleate R&D to strengthen India’s cyber security space.

The surge in cyber-attacks underscores the need for cost-effective, robust and locally developed solutions to mitigate external risks, he said.

According to the press release, the startup demo initiative ensures IIT Kanpur’s ongoing commitment to fostering innovation, establishing robust connections with industry and government and motivating entrepreneurs to create solutions that enhance India’s digital security.
